PRIVACYVERKLARING
Over IDG
De International Data Group, Inc. (IDG), een groep van digitale en gedrukte publicaties, bestaat uit honderden bekroonde titels wereldwijd waaronder Connect.com, connect.co.uk, CIO, CSO, Game Pro, Network World, Macworld en PC World. The IDG Publishing Network is een groeiende verzameling van IDG websites die momenteel bestaat uit cio.com, csoonline.com, infoworld.com, idgconnect.com, networkworld.com, macworld.com, pcworld.com en gamepro.com. Een complete lijst is beschikbaar op www.idg.com. The IDG Publishing Network wordt bestuurd door onze overkoepelende holding company International Data Group, Inc. samen met haar dochtermaatschappijen ('onze groep').
Gegevensbescherming
IDG respecteert de privacy van haar klanten en verwerkt persoonlijke gegevens in overeenstemming met de toepasselijke wetgeving voor persoonlijke gegevens. IDG Nederland, gevestigd aan de Transformatorweg 80, 1014 AK Amsterdam, zal optreden als de verantwoordelijke partij ('data controller') onder de Wet bescherming persoonsgegevens, hierna te noemen Wbp, en zal uw persoonlijke gegevens verwerken conform de Wbp. De verwerking van uw persoonlijke gegevens is aangemeld bij het College Bescherming Persoonsgegevens in Den Haag, onder nummer 1279305.
Persoonlijke gegevens en het doel van gegevensverwerking
IDG Nederland kan de door u actief verstrekte persoonlijke gegevens verzamelen, bewerken en gebruiken, zoals uw naam, adres, e-mailadres, telefoonnummer, mobiele nummer en faxnummer en informatie over de producten en diensten van IDG die u hebt aangeschaft. We kunnen u ook vragen om andere informatie te verstrekken, zoals functie, titel, industriële branche, bedrijf/naam en land. Als u zich registreert, zullen wij u ook vragen een gebruikersnaam en een wachtwoord te kiezen voor als u in de toekomst toegang wilt krijgen tot de desbetreffende website(s).
Uw gegevens kunnen verwerkt worden voor de volgende doeleinden:
- Om u de publicaties toe te sturen waar u op geabonneerd bent;
- Om u toegang te verlenen tot onze website;
- Om u diensten aan te bieden;
- Om contact met u op te nemen over de door u gevraagde diensten;
- Om de door u gevraagde diensten te leveren;
- Om te zorgen voor hernieuwde registratie en u bericht te sturen om uw abonnement te verlengen;
- Om de betalingen te verwerken;
- Om enquêtes uit te voeren om onze dienstverlening aan u te verbeteren en om diensten van een acceptabel niveau te leveren aan onze gebruikers en adverteerders;
- Om te zorgen voor uw deelname aan opiniepeilingen, wedstrijden en campagnes;
- Om een klantprofiel op te stellen op basis van de verschillende informatie die u bij diverse gelegenheden aan IDG Nederland hebt verstrekt, zoals uw abonnementen op verschillende IDG publicaties en IDG websites en uw deelname aan opiniepeilingen, wedstrijden en campagnes, zodat IDG Nederland zijn diensten en aanbiedingen op uw interesses af kan stemmen;
- Om u uitnodigingen te sturen voor tentoonstellingen, seminars en shows;
- Om u te informeren over andere producten en diensten van IDG (alleen als u daar toestemming voor geeft);
- Om u aanbiedingen van andere organisaties te sturen (alleen als u daar toestemming voor geeft);
- Om u in staat te stellen zich te registreren bij derden en gratis voorzieningen zoals whitepapers van ze te ontvangen (alleen als u daar toestemming voor geeft).
Klikgedrag
IDG Nederland probeert op verschillende manieren haar dienstverlening te optimaliseren. Naast de door u verstrekte gegevens verzamelt, verwerkt en registreert IDG gebruikersgegevens van ontvangers van IDG nieuwsbrieven en van bezoekers van IDG websites. Het klikgedrag van ontvangers en bezoekers wordt bekeken om te bepalen voor welke specifieke onderdelen van nieuwsbrieven en de desbetreffende website gebruikers belangstelling hebben. Op deze manier kunnen onze nieuwsbrieven en websites zoveel mogelijk worden afgestemd op en aangepast aan uw belangstelling, bijvoorbeeld door informatie in de volgorde van uw interesse te presenteren. Ook kan IDG Nederland deze informatie gebruiken om een klantprofiel te maken en om de inhoud van diensten, nieuwsbrieven en aanbiedingen af te stemmen op zaken waar u belangstelling voor hebt.
Gegevensverwerking in Nederland en overdracht aan leden van de groep in het buitenland
Uw persoonlijke gegevens worden eerst opgeslagen op IDG computers in Nederland en kunnen vervolgens worden overgedragen aan IDG in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Daarvandaan kunnen uw gegevens worden gedeeld met andere leden van de IDG Group voor de hierboven beschreven doeleinden. IDG in het Verenigd Koninkrijk zal uw gegevens verwerken en overdragen conform de Wet Gegevensbescherming van het Verenigd Koninkrijk.
We zullen alle stappen nemen die redelijkerwijs noodzakelijk zijn om ervoor te zorgen dat uw persoonlijke gegevens veilig en in overeenstemming met deze privacyverklaring worden behandeld.
Externe data processors
Uw persoonlijke gegevens kunnen worden overgedragen aan en opgeslagen door externe specialisten die door IDG Nederland zijn ingehuurd om uw gegevens namens IDG te verwerken (dat wil zeggen als data processors volgens de betekenis van de Wbp) en te helpen bij het leveren van de content en de diensten die u hebt opgevraagd. In al deze gevallen zal IDG Nederland ervoor zorgen dat passende maatregelen zullen worden genomen om uw persoonlijke gegevens te beschermen. Deze externe providers zullen worden verplicht door IDG Nederland om de vertrouwelijkheid van uw gegevens te waarborgen en om passende technische en organisatorische maatregelen te treffen om uw gegevens te beschermen tegen verlies en tegen elke vorm van onwettige bewerking.
Gebruik van gegevens voor Direct Marketing doeleinden
IDG Nederland zal de door u verstrekte en in een klantprofiel opgeslagen informatie uitsluitend gebruiken om u nieuwsbrieven van IDG te sturen en aanbiedingen van een van de sites van IDG Publishing Network waarvan IDG denkt dat ze u zullen interesseren als u daar uitdrukkelijk toestemming voor hebt gegeven.
Bovendien is het zo dat als u akkoord gaat met het ontvangen van aanbiedingen van externe organisaties, uw persoonlijke gegevens bij IDG Nederland blijven, die u de aanbiedingen van de derden zal sturen. Behalve in het hieronder uitgelegde geval met betrekking tot de levering van gratis voorzieningen, zullen uw persoonlijke gegevens nooit worden overgedragen aan dergelijke externe organisaties.
Om u gratis voorzieningen zoals whitepapers en expertanalyses te kunnen leveren, is het mogelijk dat IDG Nederland uw persoonlijke gegevens en/of zakelijke informatie deelt met externe organisaties die partners zijn van IDG. Deze externe organisaties kunnen binnen of buiten de Europese Unie gevestigd zijn. We zullen uw persoonlijke gegevens alleen met onze externe partnerorganisaties delen als u daarin van tevoren uitdrukkelijk hebt toegestemd.
IDG Nederland biedt u de mogelijkheid te allen tijde uw voorkeuren te wijzigen en zal u in elke nieuwsbrief of direct marketing boodschap die u via elektronische weg wordt toegezonden herinneren aan de mogelijkheid om uw voorkeuren te wijzigen.
U kunt ook te allen tijde uw wensen aan ons kenbaar maken door ons een brief of een e-mail te sturen op het adres dat onder aan deze Privacyverklaring staat onder het kopje 'uw rechten'.
Openbaring van gegevens aan derden
Als het bedrijf dat deze website beheert, verkocht wordt, dan zullen de relevante lijsten van geregistreerde bezoekers en andere persoonlijke gegevens van onze abonnees en gebruikers worden overgedragen aan de nieuwe eigenaar. Dit zal gebeuren conform de toepasbare wetgeving inclusief de Wbp.
Ook bestaat de mogelijkheid dat IDG Nederland uw persoonlijke gegevens onthult als IDG hiertoe verplicht is als gevolg van een rechterlijk bevel of een andere wettelijke verplichting, een dagvaarding of een rechtszaak of als dat op een andere manier wettelijk verplicht is, of als we van mening zijn dat het noodzakelijk is om illegale activiteiten of inbreuken op ons beleid te voorkomen of te bestrijden.
Cookies
Voor het verzamelen van gegevens gebruikt IDG cookies. Cookies zijn kleine tekstbestanden die op de harde schijf of in het geheugen van uw computer worden opgeslagen. Cookies worden bijvoorbeeld gebruikt om uw favoriete instellingen voor een bepaalde dienst, webpagina of website bij te houden. Cookies kunnen ook worden gebruikt om te voorkomen dat u een bepaalde advertentie te vaak te zien krijgt en om het aantal keren dat een advertentie wordt weergegeven te registreren. Uw persoonlijke gegevens worden verwerkt onder verantwoordelijkheid van IDG Nederland. IDG Nederland zal ervoor zorgen dat uw persoonlijke gegevens met zorg worden behandeld en zal passende technische en organisatorische maatregelen treffen om uw gegevens te beschermen tegen verlies en tegen elke vorm van onwettige verwerking.
Uw rechten
U mag uw gegevens te allen tijde inzien en verzoeken ze te wijzigen, aan te vullen of te verwijderen door een mail te sturen naar webmaster@idg.nl of door uw verzoek te sturen aan IDG Nederland, Marketing Department, Postbus 20646, 1001 NP Amsterdam.

Data Protection
IDG respects the privacy of its clients and processes personal data in compliance with applicable Personal Data Legislation. IDG Nederland, located at Transformatorweg 80, 1014 AK Amsterdam, Nederland will act as the responsible party ('data controller') under the Data Protection Act (Wet bescherming persoonsgegevens, referred to as Wbp) and will process your personal data in compliance with the Wbp. The processing of your personal data has been filed with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (College Bescherming Persoonsgegevens) in The Hague, under number 1279305.
Personal data & purposes of data processing
IDG Nederland may collect, process and use personal data actively provided by you, including your name, postal address, email address, telephone, mobile and fax numbers and information about the IDG products and services purchased by you. We may also ask to provide other information, such as job function, job title, industry sector, company/ name and country. During registration, you will also be asked to choose a user name and password for future access to the relevant Website(s).
Your data may be processed for the following purposes:
- to send you the publications to which your subscription pertains;
- to provide you access to our website;
- to offer services to you;
- to contact you regarding the services you have requested;
- to provide the services you have requested;
- to take care of re-registration and to send renewal notifications;
- to take care of payment processing;
- to carry out surveys on improving our service to you and to supply a reasonable level of services to our users and advertisers;
- to take care of your participation in polls, contests and campaigns;
- to draft a client profile based on the various information you have provided to IDG Nederland in several instances including your subscriptions to various IDG publications and IDG websites and your participation in polls, contests and campaigns, so that IDG Nederland can tailor our services and offers to your interests

Click behaviour
IDG Nederland aims to optimise its services in various ways. In addition to the data actively provided by you, IDG Nederland collects, processes and records user data from recipients of IDG newsletters and from visitors of IDG websites. The click behaviour of recipients and visitors is monitored to determine in which specific sections of newsletters and the website concerned users are interested. In this way our newsletters and websites can be matched and adjusted to your interests as much as possible, for example by presenting information in the order adjusted to your interest. Also IDG Nederland may use this information to complete a customer profile and to tailor the content of future services, newsletters and offers to items you are interested in.
Data processing in the Netherlands and transfer to group members abroad
Your personal data is stored on IDG computers in the Netherlands first and may then be transferred to IDG in the United Kingdom, from where your data may be shared with other members of the IDG Group for the purposes described above. IDG in the United Kingdom will process and transfer your data in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act.
We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your personal data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Statement.
Third Party Data Processors
Your personal data may be transferred to and stored by third party specialists engaged by IDG Nederland to process your data on our behalf (i.e. as data processors within the meaning of the Wbp) and assist in the provision of the content and services you request. In all cases, IDG Nederland will ensure that appropriate measures are taken to protect your personal data. These third party providers will be obligated by IDG Nederland to safeguard the confidentiality of your data and to take adequate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss and against any form of unlawful processing.
Use of data for Direct Marketing Purposes
IDG Nederland will only use the information actively provided by you and information included in a customer profile to send you newsletters from IDG and offers that IDG Nederland believes will be of interest to you from any of the IDG Publishing Network sites with your prior express consent.
In addition, if you consent to receive offerings from third party organizations, your personal data remains with IDG Nederland who will send you the third party offerings. Except as set forth below with regard to the provision of free resources, at no time will your personal data be transferred to such third party organizations.
In order to provide you with free resources such as white papers and expert analysis, IDG Nederland may share your personal data and/or business information with third party organizations we partner with. These third party organizations may be located within the European Union or outside of the European Union. We will only share your personal data with third party organizations we partner with, with your prior express consent.
IDG Nederland offers you the possibility to amend your preferences at any time and will remind you of your possibility to amend your preferences in any newsletter or direct marketing message that is sent to you by electronic means.
You can also at any time express your will by contacting us by post or email at the address set out at the foot of this Privacy Statement under 'your rights'.
Disclosure of data to third parties
If the business of operating this Website is sold, the relevant registered user lists and other personal data of our subscribers and users will be transferred to the new owner. This will be done in accordance with applicable legislation including the Wbp.
Also IDG Nederland may disclose your personal data if IDG is under a duty to disclose your personal data as a result of a court order or any other legal obligation, any subpoena or legal process or as otherwise required by law, or if we believe it necessary to prevent or take action regarding illegal activities or violations of our policies.
